Lenalid 15mg Tablets by Natco is an immunomodulator that helps eliminate abnormal cells in the bone marrow that will affect the functioning of the immune system and produce new normal blood cells. Lenalidomide affects the immune system. Promotes the immune response and prevents inflammation in the body.

Lenalidomide 15 mg treats multiple myeloma (plasma carcinoma) in patients who have received treatment with dexamethasone at least once before its use. Lenalid is also available in doses of 5 and 15 mg.

What is Lenalid 15 mg?

Lenalidomide is classified as “immune regulators” and “angiogenesis inhibitors”. It affects all types of cellular processes, including the way cells divide and grow. It sends signals to itself so that cells can develop.

It affects the chemicals it uses to interfere with the immune system, which is why they are called immunomodulators and also prevent tumors from building their own blood vessels. Any cancer that develops requires a blood supply.

Uses of Lenalid 15 mg capsule

Lenalid 15 Capsules is used to treat multiple myeloma and leprosy. This medicine belongs to a group of medicines which affect the functioning of the immune system.

• Multiple myeloma
• Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS)
• Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL)

Benefits of using Lenalid 15 mg

For multiple myeloma:

With multiple myeloma, the body breaks bone faster than bone replacement. This makes the bones weak and increases the likelihood of pain breaking.

Lenalid 15 capsules can be prescribed together with other cancer treatments such as chemotherapy.

It is an important part of the treatment that will increase the survival rate of people with multiple myeloma.

This medicine kills cancer cells, stops them from growing back and stops them from spreading to other parts of the body. For maximum benefit, follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.

It is also effective with calcium and vitamin D3 supplements and can be prescribed if the blood calcium level is low.

Leprosy reaction:

Leprosy is a complex inflammatory reaction that can occur before, during or after the treatment of leprosy, a serious bacterial skin disease. These reactions increase nerve damage and aggravate disability in lepers.

How to take Lenalid 15 mg

Lenalid 15 mg is generally taken on a 28-day cycle and once a day or as directed by a doctor.

Lenalid 15 mg capsules can be taken with or without food, but for maximum benefit, make sure you take them at the same time each day. Your doctor will decide how and how often to take it.

This can change from time to time, depending on what you are being treated for. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised you. The wrong path or excessive intake can lead to very serious side effects.

In an Overdosage:

If I take more lenalid 15mg, contact your doctor or local hospital and emergency department.

Miss Dosage:

Forget about taking lenalid 15 mg at the usual time, and if it goes away within 12 hours, take it immediately. More than 12 hours have passed – do not take the medicine. Please take the following doses at your usual time the next day. Do not double the dose.

Stop Taking Lenalid 15mg:

Do not stop take lenalid until your doctor has told you do so.

Serious Side effects

• Symptoms of fever, chills, sore throat, cough, inflammation, or other infections, including bloodstream (sepsis)
• It reduces the number of blood cells (platelets) that help blood clot, which can lead to bleeding disorders such as white blood cells, nosebleeds or bruises.
• Bleeding or bruising if there is no injury
• Venous thrombus (thrombosis).
• Pain in the chest or leg
• Shortness of breath

Lenalid 15mg drug interactions

Cholestyramine and activated charcoal can reduce the concentration of active metabolites in plasma. Concomitant use of methotrexate and other hepatotoxic drugs may increase the risk of hepatotoxicity.

Rifampicin increases the serum levels of active metabolites.

It can be fatal: it can exacerbate the side effects of live vaccines.

Hepatic impairment, moderate to severe renal dysfunction, impaired immune function, including bone marrow dysplasia or strictly controlled infections, severe hypoproteinemia; Simultaneous vaccination with live vaccine. Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
